Trump ready to strike great deal with China
According to the statement of US President Donald Trump, he would like to make a “great deal” with China on trade “right now”, but the Chinese “are not ready”.
“I think that we will make a great deal with China. And it has to be great because they have drained our country. We have really helped rebuild China. They have been taken out an average of USD 500 billion a year for many years. Not going to happen anymore,” the head of the White House asserted. He also noted that he hoped to settle a mutually beneficial trade agreement with the new Brazilian government. The trade conflict between China and the United States began after imposing mutual hefty tariffs in July this year. The US introduced a 25% tariff on 818 items of Chinese imports worth $34 billion per year. Beijing responded with retaliatory 25% tariffs on the same volume of US imports. In late September, the White House released a new list of Chinese imports worth $200 billion which would be levied a 10% tariff. In response, China announced punitive 10% and 5% tariffs on $60 billion of US imports.
